Allton’s Nautilus System offers high efficiencies and low vessel costs for the deployment and recovery of seismic ocean bottom nodes (OBN).
Seismic OBN data provides considerable advantages over conventional streamer data with seafloor placement, full 360° azimuth coverage, enhanced data recording and high precision positioning. The long offsets, full azimuth and low frequencies obtained from OBN acquisition combined with Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) improve understanding of complex reservoirs.
The Nautilus System can provide higher deployment and recovery speeds versus traditional node deployment solutions such as Cable / Node on a Rope (NOAR) operations or Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV). It can be operated on lower-cost Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) and there are no expensive ROV operations required.
Other advantages of the Nautilus System are that it is a modular, container-based solution. This allows for flexible, scalable and cost-efficient mobilisation and demobilisation on standard PSV which are more widely available globally than ROV vessels.
The depth range covers shallow to deep water.
